On Friday 2nd June pupils in Raasay Primary School took part once again in the local Skye Mod. Pupils in P1-7 all took part in individual singing and poetry competitions with all five coming back with gold and silver medals! They also entered as a Choral group singing their own composition ‘Tobhta Fearna’. The adjudicator awarded them 94/95 points and stated

“What a lovely song and what great Gaidhlig – if you weren’t in the learner competition I would have thought you were fluent”.

The school as a whole also won the Oban Rosebowl again this year for the most points gained by a non Gaelic Medium School.

Le vendredi 2 juin, les élèves de l’école primaire de Raasay ont participé une fois de plus au Skye Mod local. Les élèves de P1 à 7 ont tous participé à des concours individuels de chant et de poésie et les cinq ont remporté des médailles d’or et d’argent ! Ils ont également participé en tant que groupe choral en chantant leur propre composition « Tobhta Fearna ». L’arbitre leur a attribué 94/95 points et a déclaré

« Quelle belle chanson et quel excellent Gaidhlig – si vous n’aviez pas participé à la compétition des apprenants, j’aurais pensé que vous parliez couramment ».

L’école dans son ensemble a également remporté l’Oban Rosebowl cette année encore pour le plus grand nombre de points obtenus par une école non gaélique.
